Low Voltage Installer
What You Will Do
- Install, configure, and service access control hardware including cameras, readers, door hardware, control panels, and low-voltage wiring across a variety of commercial and residential job sites.
- Troubleshoot system issues, perform repairs, and maintain installed systems to ensure reliability, uptime, and security for our clients.
- Collaborate with project managers, staff, and customers to ensure smooth and professional project delivery from start to finish.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, service calls, and parts usage.
- Train customers on system functionality and best practices to ensure they get the most out of their investment.
- Follow all safety and compliance standards on every job site, every time.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in access control, low-voltage, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of door hardware, cabling, and networking fundamentals.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-first mindset.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work at heights when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience installing maglocks, electric strikes, crash bars, and related door hardware.
- Familiarity with access control platforms such as Verkada, Lenel, Brivo, RS2, or Avigilon.
- Ability to run and terminate low-voltage cabling including Cat6 and shielded cable.
- Experience with conduit bending and installation for clean, code-compliant cable runs.
- Comfortable using power tools and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters and cable testers.
- Knowledge of fire and life safety code compliance as it relates to access control systems.
- Experience working on active construction sites or coordinating with other trades.
- Manufacturer certifications or factory training in access control systems.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
